그녀의 안무 작업은 주로 쉽게 가시화되지 않는 신체 내부의 감각에서 출발한다.
I N S | E Y E | D는 2023년 아트코리아랩 테스트베드 프로젝트를 통해 시작된 리서치기반 작업으로, 기억에 대한 지각과 시각적 상상력을 신체 언어로 번역하는 과정에서 출발하였다.
이 작업은 기억을 재현하는 것이 아닌 몸 안에 남아 있는 감각과 흔적이 움직임으로 어떻게 드러날 수 있는지를 탐구한다.
또한 안무를 중심으로 시각 매체와 인터랙티브 기술을 접목하며 신체를 다른 매체들과 함께 확장할 수 있는 가능성을 실험하였다.
이 과정은 움직임과 이미지, 기술이 만나는 새로운 퍼포먼스 형식을 탐색하는 첫 번째 연구이자, 이후 작업으로 이어지는 하나의 출발점이 되었다.
몸 안에는 쉽게 사라지지 않는 흔적들이 남아 있다. 오래된 기억들은 신체 안으로 스며들어 말없이 머물고, 때로는 하나의 형상이 되어 현재의 움직임 속에 드러난다.
I N S | E Y E | D는 이러한 흔적과 형상을 빛과 그림자의 관계를 통해 바라본다.
눈에 보이지 않는 기억은 몸 안에 머무르며 감각을 만들고, 그 감각은 다시 움직임을 통해 드러난다.
이 작업은 상처나 결핍을 설명하기보다, 그것들이 신체 안에서 어떠한 존재 방식으로 남아 있는지를 관찰한다.
이러한 관점에서 작업은 세 가지 이질성을 중심으로 전개된다.
- 신체의 이질성 (The Foreignness of the Body)
- 시선의 이질성 (The Foreignness of the Gaze)
- 공간의 이질성 (The Foreignness of Space)
각각의 움직임 방법론은 서로 다른 이질성을 중첩시키거나 새롭게 생성하며, 그 관계는 서로 다른 퍼포먼스 형식으로 확장된다.

EYEING
Dance Film
왜곡된 벽면 프로젝션 맵핑과 안무를 결합한 댄스필름.
투사된 이미지와 신체가 하나의 화면 안에서 서로를 변형시키며, 몸과 공간에 대한 새로운 감각을 제안한다.
EYE-ING
Interactive Media Installation
TouchDesigner, 웹캠, 아이트래커를 활용한 인터랙티브 미디어 작업.
관객의 시선은 실시간으로 이미지로 변환되고, 바라보는 행위는 단순한 관찰을 넘어 신체적 경험으로 확장된다.

Live Performance
댄스필름이 상영되는 공간에서 동시에 진행된 라이브 퍼포먼스.
기록된 신체와 현재의 신체가 같은 공간 안에서 겹쳐지며, 관객은 바라보는 사람과 참여하는 사람 사이를 오가게 된다.

Her choreographic practice begins from an internal perspective of the body—one that cannot be easily seen.
Developed through the 2023 Art Korea Lab Testbed Project, I N S | E Y E | D emerged from an ongoing inquiry into how memory is perceived, imagined, and embodied. Rather than representing memory itself, the project explores how perception and visual imagination can be translated into the language of movement.
The work also marks the beginning of my exploration beyond choreography alone. By allowing the body to encounter visual media and interactive technologies, I sought to discover new relationships between movement and image, expanding the possibilities of performance through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Conceived as a research-driven project, I N S | E Y E | D became the starting point for investigating how the body can be continuously reinterpreted through different artistic mediums.
"Beneath the skin remain traces that do not easily disappear—memories absorbed into the body, settling quietly until they become silent forms."
I N S | E Y E | D reinterprets these lingering traces through the relationship between light and shadow, asking how invisible experiences continue to shape the body long after they can no longer be spoken.
Rather than treating the body as a fixed image, the work approaches it as a place where memory continuously transforms perception.
From this perspective, the project unfolds through three interconnected themes:
- The Foreignness of the Body
- The Foreignness of the Gaze
- The Foreignness of Space
Each methodology introduces a different form of unfamiliarity, layering one upon another or allowing entirely new relationships to emerge. These shifting conditions become the foundation for multiple performative formats, each examining the body from a different point of encounter.
Research Outcomes
EYEING
Dance Film
A dance film that combines choreography with distorted wall projection mapping, exploring how projected images transform the body's presence and spatial perception.
EYE-ING
Interactive Media Installation
A single-channel interactive installation using TouchDesigner, a webcam, and an eye tracker.
The viewer's gaze is translated into visual information in real time, transforming observation into participation and expanding the act of looking into a physical experience.
YOU CAN'T SEE ME WHERE I CAN SEE YOU
Live Performance
A site-specific performance presented simultaneously with the screening of the dance film.
By layering live movement and projected images within the same space, the work blurs the boundary between recorded and present bodies,
inviting the audience to negotiate their own position between observer and participant.
